Philibert Security Systems, Inc. (“Philibert Security,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) has protected homes and businesses across the St. Louis metro area since 1971. Because we install, service, and monitor security systems, we necessarily handle sensitive information about you, your property, and your alarm system. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. It applies to this website and to our installation, service, and central-station monitoring relationship with you.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your security system, and a limited amount of technical information from your use of this website.

  • Account & billing information — name, service and billing address, phone numbers, email address, and billing history.
  • Premises & system information — your installation address, the configuration of your system, sensor and zone layout, equipment models, and any floor-plan or site details you share to design your system.
  • Security credentials — account passwords, verbal passphrases, duress codes, and your emergency call list. This information is held under restricted, need-to-know access because it directly affects the security of your property.
  • Alarm & monitoring data — alarm signals, arm/disarm records, event logs, trouble and tamper conditions, and the timestamps associated with them.
  • Video, camera & access data — if you use CCTV, video doorbells, or card/keypad access control, we may handle recorded footage, clips, and access logs in the course of providing and servicing those features.
  • Payment information — when you pay online, your card details are entered into and tokenized by our PCI-compliant payment processor (Authorize.Net). We do not receive or store your full card number; we retain only a transaction reference and the last four digits.
  • Website information — standard server logs (such as IP address and request times) and only the essential cookies needed for the site to function. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Your codes and contact list are security-critical.

Passphrases, duress codes, and emergency contacts are shared only with the personnel and central-station operators who need them to verify and respond to alarms. We will never ask for your full password by unsolicited email or text.

How We Use Your Information

  • To monitor your system and coordinate emergency dispatch through our UL-listed central station.
  • To design, install, service, inspect, and repair your equipment.
  • To process payments, manage your account, and send invoices and service notices.
  • To respond to your requests and communicate about your system, appointments, and account.
  • To meet legal, insurance, licensing, and public-safety obligations.

How We Share Information

We share your information only as needed to provide our services or as required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

  • Central monitoring station — our UL-listed monitoring provider receives the account, premises, credential, and event data required to verify alarms and dispatch help.
  • Emergency responders & your contacts — during an alarm event we may share your address, alarm type, and relevant details with police, fire, or EMS, and we contact the people on your emergency call list.
  • Payment processor — card transactions are handled by Authorize.Net under its own security and privacy controls.
  • Equipment & app platforms — if you use connected features (for example, a manufacturer or Alarm.com-style app), certain data is exchanged with that platform to provide the feature.
  • Website, hosting & network providers — our website infrastructure is operated by our web and network partners, stlweb.dev (web hosting and email delivery) and PQ Crypta (the encrypted proxy that carries site traffic), which process website and submission data on our behalf. Card numbers are tokenized in your browser directly by our payment processor and do not pass through this infrastructure in readable form.
  • Service partners — vetted subcontractors who assist with installation or service, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal & safety — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of people or property.

Video & Camera Footage

Where we provide or service video products, footage is treated as sensitive. Access is limited to personnel with a service or verification need, footage is retained only as long as your service configuration or an active investigation requires, and we provide recorded material to law enforcement only pursuant to your request or valid legal process.

Payment Card Security

Online payments are processed through Authorize.Net using in-browser tokenization, meaning your card number is transmitted directly to the processor and never stored on our servers. Our systems retain only a transaction ID and masked card reference for reconciliation.

Data Retention

We keep account, contract, and monitoring records for as long as you are a customer and thereafter for the period required by our agreements, insurance, and applicable law. Alarm event logs may be retained to support investigations, permit compliance, and dispute resolution.

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of security-system data, including restricted access to credentials and encrypted transmission of alarm signals and website traffic. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information consistent with industry practice.

Your Choices

You may review or update your account and contact information, and opt out of marketing messages, by contacting us. Note that certain records — such as monitoring logs and contract documents — must be retained for safety, contractual, and legal reasons and cannot be deleted on request while your account is active.

Children’s Privacy

Our services and website are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and material changes will be posted on this page.
